Responsibilities:


  • Provides benefits expertise and guidance to employees throughout their lifecycle with Richardson from new hire benefits enrollment, through life event changes, and into termination/retirement
  • Handles complex issues and confidential questions from employees, former employees and retirees, dependents and beneficiaries regarding benefit program eligibility, features, options, procedures and changes
  • Leads and administers flex benefits plan open enrollment activities across multiple employee groups; implements annual benefits renewal pricing and changes in employee costshare
  • Drafts benefits plan communications for various employee groups; delivers employee information sessions with respect to plan changes
  • Supports benefits system implementation by coordinating and collaborating with external service providers and internal HRIS team on benefits plan changes, system enhancements, and interfaces

Qualifications:

  • Commerce Degree in Human Resources or Business with 35 years of related benefits experience or combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and ongoing development; enrollment in, or completion of, the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) program would be an asset
  • Above average interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, and with external service providers
  • Strong skills in project management and in data analysis, reconciliation and summary reporting
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience administering benefits for union employees or U.S. employees would be an asset
  • Experience administering a flex benefits plan would be an asset
