About the opportunity


Our awesome team has capitalized on the surge in demand for technology that's been occurring in the past few years and has been expanding rapidly.

We are looking to bolster our ranks with technically-inclined team members who are well-versed in customer service to keep up with the rate at which we are growing.


The role of the Systems Administrator (Projects) is to assist with project delivery by performing and completing technical project tickets and deliverables.

Depending on the size, complexity and nature of the project, you may be required to manage the sequence and schedule of project tasks or be required to work with a Project Coordinator as part of a delivery team.


This position reports to the Director of Technology and the required hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM, having a 1-hour lunch break.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

A Systems Administrator, Projects role carries these responsibilities:

  • Manage a detailed project schedule
  • Follow a statement of work (SOW)
  • Assist with the management of a project execution plan
  • Identify and report potential change orders and scope creep
  • Complete all assigned project tickets with accurate timetracking
  • Take appropriate technical action to ensure satisfaction and timely resolution
  • Ensure that all work is carried out and documented per existing standards and methods
  • Conduct onsite service trips as required; some local and outoftown travel may be required
  • Provide progress updates consistently to various stakeholders
  • Provide directed assistance to project tasks as assigned by Project Coordinators or by Senior Systems Administrators within the projects department
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques and standards throughout the project lifecycles
  • Continuous selfimprovement through workshops, certifications, or job shadows
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and prospective clients

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of customer service experience
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Positive, solutionoriented mindset, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Minimum 1 year of information technology (IT) in a tier2 or tier3 helpdesk position
  • Degree or technical diploma having a 2year term within the field of Computer Science, Computer Systems Administration or equivalent from an accredited technical institution
  • Microsoft certifications for Windows desktop, server and cloud infrastructure are an asset
  • Network stack certifications, such as Cisco, Meraki, HPE Aruba or Palo Alto Networks are an asset
  • Experience with server virtualization through Hyper-V or ESXi is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud platforms is preferred
  • Experience with networking, nextgeneration security appliances, wired and wireless infrastructure, VoIP and SIP telephony is preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication and comprehension skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and Project is required
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and to work collaboratively with business development, account management, project coordination and project delivery roles
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Wellestablished timemanagement, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional ability to listen, communicate and collaborate
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check
  • Class 5/7 Driver's license
  • Clean driving record, driver's abstract and claims history letter
