Powerline Maintainer/ Street Lighting Technician
Working Conditions:
Permanent Position
40 hours/week, Monday through Friday
Occasional overtime may be required

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform replacement, repair and maintenance on street light equipment, hardware, and infrastructure as required
- Maintain and repair electrical distribution, including conduits, cables, wires, circuit breakers, for street lighting
- Maintain accurate records of job scope and completed work (Using a Tablet)
- Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles and wires
- Operate an RBD truck and aerial truck work
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Respond to oncall duties when required
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Journeyperson Power Line Technician Certificate or recognized equivalent (Apprentices may be taken into consideration); The Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities Power Line Technician Certificate (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in the street light industry would be an asset
- IMSA Street lighting Level 1 and Level 2 certification will be an asset
- Ability to operate equipment, such as RBD and aerial trucks as well as comfortable with using technology
- Excellent organizational, planning skills, time management and prioritization skills with the ability to juggle demands and meet deadlines
- Excellent decisionmaking ability and problemsolving skills
- Proven ability as a team player
- Ability to complete tasks including heavy lifting required; bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time
- Proficient in understanding and reading blueprints
