PRIMARY PURPOSE:


The role of the Prevention Education Manager is to oversee all aspects of the Know the Truth prevention program, including efforts in middle schools, high schools, alternative learning centers, at parent and community education events, and other appropriate professional training throughout Central Canada.

This is a highly visible position within the organization, and includes significant partnership and engagement with internal team members, and with external partners including community and school leaders, counselors, parents, teachers, and students, etc.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Participate in the development of long range and annual prevention objectives and strategies.
  • Development and execution of the KNOW THE TRUTH (KTT) prevention and awareness program.
  • Define annual goals, measurement and evaluation criteria, team structure, and annual budget
  • Develop, assess and refine curriculum and school presentation formats as needed to ensure ongoing viability and relevance of both large and small group sessions, and parent and community education content.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and other school staff in support of building long-term productive working relationships
  • Develop and share your personal story of addiction in, and not limited to, classroom presentations, fundraising meetings, college presentations, church youth group presentations, parent presentations and business presentations.
  • Develop, train and lead Know the Truth teams across Central Canada in implementation of annual plans;
  • Plan and schedule prevention presentations at schools and parent events
  • Interview, vet, train and manage the Program Presenters, and Interns
  • Provide ongoing development, coaching and reviews of the KTT presenters and team members
  • Periodically facilitate small group sessions, including teaching of developed curriculum
  • Lead and/or facilitate parent events, and participate in community forums, as needed
  • Evaluate and measure results; make refinements to program and reporting as needed
  • Lead the Know the Truth team in youth engagement efforts;
  • Develop and implement student outreach campaigns
  • Evaluate and measure results; make refinements to efforts as needed
  • Oversee all social media efforts; evaluate and measure impact; make refinements
  • Management of Program budget, allocations, and disbursement of funds
  • Collaborate with internal team members and others to seek and facilitate the acquisition of program grants, donors, and other fundraising avenues

Oversee KTT Program marketing efforts, including:

  • Work with internal marketing communications partners on marketing campaigns and materials, as needed
  • Assist with creation and implementation of student outreach campaigns
  • Ensure the KTT website is developed and up to date with the most relevant and accurate information
  • Oversee all social media outreach
  • Oversee merchandise inventory
  • Develop and provide KTT program related reporting
