We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our team. Our hours are Monday to Thursday 6.30 am pm.
As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist at Gullco, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products through our supply chain
Your responsibilities will include:
- Crating: Safely and securely packaging products for domestic and international shipments, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and guidelines.
- International Trade Document Creation: Preparing and maintaining accurate shipping documents including packing lists and trucking, air and sea freight documents.
- Container Unloading: Efficiently unloading containers and verifying received goods against packing lists and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inventory.
- Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory control, organizing and tracking stock, participating in yearly inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies.
- Shipping Coordination: Coordinating with logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders to schedule shipments, track deliveries, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Quality Control: Inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or defects, reporting any discrepancies or issues, and collaborating with relevant team members to resolve them.
- Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to shipping, receiving, and handling of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or vocational training will be considered a plus).
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with crating techniques and international shipping regulations.
- Experience in unloading containers and conducting inventory checks.
- Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and other relevant tools.
- Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform manual lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Effective communication and problemsolving abilities.
