    NRCan has transitioned to a hybrid work environment which offers employees the opportunity to telework and work from the designated work location, subject to operational requirements. This position will require an in-office presence for a minimum of three (3) days a week.

    Intent of the process

    The intent of this selection process is to staff a full-time indeterminate position.

    Information you must provide In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

    Education
    Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry, or some other science relevant to the position.

    The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

    Experience
    - Significant experience* in managing and coordinating cross-cutting policy, program, and business files (such as integrated business plan, program evaluations and audits, priority setting exercises, budget proposals, outreach activities, etc.)
    - Experience in planning and conducting technical, regulatory, or scientific research or studies for the development and implementation of programs or initiatives
    - Experience in providing expert advice to senior officials**
    - Experience in reporting and presenting analysis or research findings
    - Experience in planning and conducting engagement activities with internal and external stakeholders

    *Significant experience is defined as more than 2 years of experience
    ** Senior officials are defined as Director level and above

    Asset Qualifications:
    - Experience working in a research and development organization
    - Experience working on issues that require expertise in science and policy integration

    - Ability to review and analyze complex technical information with a view to formulating potential solutions
    - Ability to concisely and accurately document findings in briefings, presentations, and reports

    - Ability to perform under pressure
