    As a Category Management Advisor, you will be a key player in supporting Walmart Category Management team. You will collaborate directly with the buying team to identify key department/category metrics and translate that data into actionable insights. Reporting to the Team Lead, Category Management, you will lead, enhance, and grow the relationship with our Merchant partner by being a thought-leader and "go-to" resource for category shopper and consumer trends, as well as merchandising solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the Walmart Category Management team to identify key department/category metrics and translate data into actionable insights.
    • Work directly with the buying team to develop effective merchandising solutions.
    • Lead, enhance, and grow the relationship with our Merchant partners, serving as a thought-leader and "go-to" resource for category shopper and consumer trends.
    • Provide innovative solutions for driving growth in our product categories using syndicated data.
    • Develop persuasive analysis and presentations using available data and consumer research tools to drive sales fundamentals, category, and growth.
    • Collaborate with Key Account Managers to identify opportunities for category growth and present meaningful observations and solutions.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders in Commercial Strategy and Marketing to ensure strategic alignment on category recommendations.
    • Present market trends, product competitiveness, and fact-based strategies to drive Category sales growth.
    • Lead analysis from various sources, including Nielsen, Circana, Retail Link, Shopper Intelligence to identify business opportunities and provide recommendations.
    • Act as a key contact between internal and external partners, representing the category leadership function.
    • Prepare and present merchandising recommendations, including planograms, to key internal and external partners.
    • Develop category management best practices and provide support at the store level on an ad-hoc basis.
    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • University degree in marketing, administration, or a relevant field.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management in the consumer goods industry (small appliance experience an asset)
    • Proficiency with planogram management software (JDA/Blue Yonder Space planning).
    • High proficiency with syndicated data tools (Nielsen MarketTrack, Homescan, Circana [NPD]).
    • Experience with retailer POS/loyalty databases (e.g., Retail Link) is an asset.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

    • Hybrid Role- based from Mississauga sales office, Walmart office
