The Infinity Women Secretariat (IWS) is a non-profit organization that connects Red River Métis women, girls, 2SLGBTQ+ members throughout the Province of Manitoba and beyond, with a mandate to promote, empower, and enhance their well-being. Incorporated on April 23, 2013, IWS has become well known in our Red River Métis communities and remains a proud affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis.

The IWS seeks to fill one full-time Youth Outreach Worker position located at 150 Henry Ave in Winnipeg, MB. The Youth Outreach Worker will be responsible for working with Red River Métis women, girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ youth members, engaging and empowering them within Red River Métis communities across Manitoba, and beyond.

Job Duties/Competencies:

  • Support the growth and development of IWS programs, services, supports, and resources;
  • Identify, plan, develop and implement Youth programming and services;
  • Actively promote and develop partnerships to proactively address IWS youth members' needs;
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and facilitation of other IWS initiatives;
  • Assist in reviewing IWS programs and activities, evaluation and research analysis as assigned;
  • Promote awareness of IWS services, supports, programs, and activities, ensuring increased awareness of new improvements via social media;
  • Consult with Red River Métis women, girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ members, working with IWS Provincial Youth Representative, and the MMF Department of Youth and Sports.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized program in Outreach, Youth Work, Communication, or relevant field
  • Minimum of two years' experience in communications and youth outreach programming and initiatives;
  • Knowledge of youth engagement programming, consultations, and initiatives;
  • Experience in the development, facilitation and promotion of youth activities and workshops within the community;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
