Support Specialist:
Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

Monitors support requests and conveys corrective actions to users in a timely, clear, and professional manner.
- Investigates, researches, and resolves problems in Banner Student, Degree Works, and Recruit.
- Documents actions taken for future reference.
- Escalates problems to senior functional or technical staff as needed.
- Effectively communicates knowledge and understanding of a major administrative system to those responsible for studentrelated business processes.
- Designs and documents curricula for training sessions.
- Trains staff and faculty in the use of the systems.
- Provides coaching and mentoring as required.
- Assists in the development of training materials.
- Provides change management support to users of Banner Student, Degree Works, and Recruit through training, documentation, and firstline support.
- Manages requests for access to administrative systems and databases in an efficient and professional manner.
- Assists with testing newly developed software to ensure readiness for use.
- Understands documented business requirements and processes and how they are modeled in Banner Student, Degree Works, or Recruit.
- Identifies and recommends improvements to procedure or policy to administrative units.
- Meets deadlines and follows defined priorities.
- Provides input into priorities and deadlines for the department's work.
- Develops and executes simple reports and queries using Crystal Reports or similar tools as required.
- Maintains productive and professional working relationships with other SIS staff members.
- Works in conjunction with other project teams as required during configuration, implementation, and support efforts.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with colleagues and all levels of academic and administrative staff.
Experience:
At least two years of experience providing end user support for information technologies; administering student records or student advising; and / or delivering training to adult learners.
Preference will be given to individuals with at least one year of experience at the University of Saskatchewan. Previous experience with Banner Student, Degree Works, Recruit, and Crystal Reports software is a definite asset.- Inquiries regarding this position can be directed to Jamie McCrory at _
