    What You Will Do:

    Gannett Fleming Canada is looking for an experienced construction management professional for the role of Construction Manager to join our team in Toronto. The Construction Manager will assist in the management of transportation construction projects for our Clients in the GTHA.

    The Construction Manager shall manage and administer multi-trade/Disciplinary Contracts with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.

    Our construction management and inspection capabilities satisfy the most selective clients. We effectively control our clients' costs, deliver their projects on time, and meet strict regulatory needs while maintaining long-lasting relationships from the pre-construction stage until long after project completion.

    Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced construction management professional for the role of Construction Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and approve contractor's construction schedule updates and requests for payment prior to submittal.
    • Receive correspondence memos from contractor, distribute for input as necessary by stakeholders and design staff, and provide response to contractor.
    • Provide evaluation of contractor claims and participate in their resolution.
    • Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms.
    • Participate in evaluation, negotiation, and approval of contract changes.
    • Maintain all contract records and daily diary of contract activities.
    • Enforce Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations safety policies and procedures.
    • Issuing instruction to the contractor.
    • Ensure all construction site staff maintain a daily diary of construction activities and prepare daily progress reports.
    • Prepare a variety of forms and reports.
    • Be vigilant of safety conditions on site and act as and when they are discovered.
    • Be cognizant of and enforce Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations for construction projects, in addition to the owner's safety policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that all site staff maintain a daily diary of construction activity and prepare daily progress reports in detail.

    Education | Experience:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum 10 years' experience managing and administering multi-discipline contracts in Municipal general facilities, ICI and heavy civil/industrial construction.
    • Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
    • Registration with PEO as P.Eng
    • PMP considered an asset
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including business and technical writing.
    • Proven team player with skills to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem, and analytical skills.
    • Experience in heavy civil construction projects.
    • Knowledge in all relevant areas of construction and understanding of various design. and construction methods.
