    Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) at Sunlife is seeking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer (AWS EKS), who can work with a skilled team of Cloud Engineers and help deliver better & efficient cloud platform solutions to our consumers.

    What will you do?

  • Partner with our consumers within Sunlife to assist them get onboarded to cloud.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain core Kubernetes controllers running in Kubernetes control plane.
  • Manage troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes for the services owned by the team.
  • Implement Security best practices for EKS clusters, including network policies, RBAC and pod security policies.
  • Strong terraform skills to deploy infrastructure as a code.
  • Consult and advise our consumers on Cloud Services, best practices and lead them to get onboarded to Cloud Environment seamlessly.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to AWS EKS configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Work with Support teams to debug and fix reported issues, and act as an escalation point for incidents.
  • Participate in security engineering to ensure compliance by design.
  • Support Cloud Audit, and Risk and compliance requirements from partnering with Security and governance teams.
  • Willing to work and support cloud platform with on engineering escalated on call rotations.

    • What you need to succeed:

  • University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s) or equivalent work experience, and/or 8+ years of industry experience in the IT industry
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in container orchestration, cloud solution administration in an enterprise environment.
  • Technical and business experience with one of the main public cloud providers (AWS, or Azure, or GCP).
  • Advanced experience with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, Ruby)
  • Systems provisioning and configuration management experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, or Cloud Native tools.

    • Preferred skills:

  • Technical knowledge/ Cloud Certification with one of the public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
  • Good knowledge with programming and/or scripting languages (Python, Perl, Java, Bash, Ruby)
  • Strong communication skills that build customers' confidence and trusted partnership.
  • The ability to deliver documents, artifacts, and documentation (not just consoles and keyboards).
