In this role you will provide advice and integration services related to Project & Work Package Management; Feasibility & Business Case; Business Requirements, Analysis & Design; Programming & Testing; Training & Documentation; Implementation & Rollout and, maintenance/enhancements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conducts feasibility studies on business opportunities & challenges.
- Assesses, analyzes, evaluates and recommends process & policy alternatives.
- Provides inputs on improvements to current business environment & processes.
- Recommend improvements to current methodology, process, standards, and policies.
- Liaises and coordinates with internal & external groups on accomplishment of deliverables.
- Facilitates collection of business requirements and build consensus amongst clients on accomplishment of deliverables.
- Prepares Business Case, Business Requirements, Gap Analysis, Logical Data Models and Design documents for proposed solutions.
- Provides inputs to Data Management teams on transformation of clients' business requirements as represented by logical data models into physical data models.
- Designs and implements business & data / information requirements into databases or file management systems.
- Develops programs to translate business requirements & designs into information systems.
- Prepares test data.
- Conducts testing of programs and systems for unit, system, performance, usability, user acceptance, disaster recovery and implementation tests.
- Prepares test strategy, test cases & test scripts for system, performance, usability and acceptance testing of system solutions developed.
- Participates in walkthrough of deliverables to identify potential problems.
- Prepares implementation & rollout strategies and plans.
- Prepares documentation for systems to facilitate transfer of knowledge.
- Provides inputs to "Go / No Go" cutover decisions e.g. rollouts.
- Travels to offsite locations.
Key Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in computer science or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Experience in database administration and development for multiple environments (development, test and production databases), including writing scripts for data conversion, creating DDL scripts for database objects (tables, indexes, roles, stored procedures, functions, triggers, batch jobs, interfaces, etc.) using Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, SQL.
- Experience in Oracle administration and development, including managing standard database security utilizing user accounts, privileges, profiles and rolebased security.
- Experience using the following or equivalent tools and methodologies is an asset
You must also have:
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, listening and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Understanding of privacy, security and auditing; how these can be reviewed, monitored, and enhanced with regards to systems implementation.
- Ability to work with competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with a group of multidisciplinary staff in a project team setting.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and understanding of secured wireless networks and remote access, authentication and authorization principles.
- Ability to work day, afternoon and nights, including weekends as required.
- Ability to travel within the City of Toronto as required.
