JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:


  • Work Program Managers in the Distribution Lines team lead multidisciplinary teams to plan, track
- and execute programs from initial concept testing through to construction. Work assignments may
- include any programs in the Grid Modernization portfolio, including End-of
  • Life replacements,
  • Distribution Automation and System Improvement. The Work Program manager is responsible for
- the successful delivery (Safety, Quality, Budget, Schedule) of medium to high risk and highly
- complex infrastructure or other construction projects.
Duties- Plan, direct, and report on infrastructure and other construction project activities by consistently

monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans,
- action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the
- project is implemented as planned.
  • Develop project plans and risk management plans for medium to high risk and highly complex
infrastructure or other construction projects with a capital cost that is generally up to $50 million for
- effective management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple activities effectively such as quality assurance, engineering, First Nations and
stakeholder engagement, communication, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and
- controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety by using
- project management principles in monitoring progress and establishing standards for
- implementation to keep the project within allotted time and budget.
  • Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and
reporting on project tasks by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project
- management programs to fulfill BC Hydro's business needs.

  • Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders including customers, engineers and field
crews through regular communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
enabling timely progression of projects.

  • Establish standards for implementation and monitoring using excellent analytical skills and a
comprehensive knowledge of project management practices and procedures to optimize project
resources.


Qualifications:

***- 4-7 years of experience in program or project management. Be able to demonstrate that the

caliber of programs or projects delivered in the past is of high complexity and/or high value/budget
- (preferably in a utility, engineering, or construction environment)
  • Intermediate technical knowledge in a specific field (ex. Engineering, Technical, Trade, Business
or Sciences) with some general knowledge of other fields- An Engineering degree or equivalent is considered an asset. A combination of education and

relevant experience will be considered- Strong grasp of project and program management principles, various delivery models and

contracting strategies- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or

equivalent is considered an asset- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and management skills and the ability to work in an

unstructured environment- Strong analytical capabilities to work with data to forecast trends and report on progress using

software such as Excel and Tableau- Must be able to effectively manage multi-discipline program teams and oversee external

contractors- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with an ability to present key program

information to both technical and
- non-technical audiences


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This FTR position is headquartered at Edmonds reporting to the Program Manager for Distribution
End-of-Life Overhead Assets. Alternative headquarters within the Lower Mainland may be
considered with the required approvals. Minimal travel < 10% may be required.
