Assembly and Repair Technician - Nisku, Alberta

Job description
Insight Global is looking for an Assembly and Repair Tech to support a large oil and gas company in Nisku Alberta for a 6 month contract with potential to convert to FTE. This resource will:
- Assemble and test Artificial Lift products
- Reviews work orders, acquire parts for new product assembly, and solicit help from and coordinate with manufacturing as necessary
- Acquire basic knowledge of materials, components, and their application
- Acquire and document basic knowledge of assembly tools and techniques
- Assist with repair and maintenance efforts to improve products and services
- Acquire basic knowledge of test procedures and techniques
- Document test procedures, data, observations, and results
- Incorporate Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques in all job processes
- Entry level position, no experience
Required Skills and Experience:
Using hand and power tools. Reading mechanical or electrical drawings or work instructions. Understanding mechanical functions and assembly sequences
- Identify root causes. Test parts or assemblies. Make accurate, efficient repairs
- Steady hand-eye coordination. Performing fine-detail work.
- Basic electronics, mechanical systems, electrical systems. Safety procedures related to equipment handling.
- Assembly instructions. Schematics and diagrams. Standard operating procedures (SOPs). Repair manuals or technical specifications
Additional Skills:
- Work involves precise measurements, correct component placement, troubleshooting, and adherence to specifications. Strong attention to detail helps prevent errors, rework, and safety issues.
- Diagnose issues, identify the root cause, and determine the most effective solution. Being analytical, resourceful, and able to think through problems logically is essential.
- Require careful repetition, troubleshooting, or refining until the result meets standards
- Must understand instructions clearly, communicate findings, and work with supervisors, engineers, or other team members.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible for one's work is critical. Assembly and repair environments rely on consistent productivity and trust that tasks will be done correctly without constant oversight.
- At least 2 years of experience, certifications will appreciate, high school education

*Pay range for this role is between $20/hr - 22/hr CAD.
