Warehouse Floor Supervisor
Reports To:
Warehouse Manager
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records.
People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including:
- Fill and ship customer orders
- Satisfy internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.)
- Ensure accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation
- Receive incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel
- Fill rush orders from customer service group
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of the department activities.
- Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by shipping and month end schedules and workflow.
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
- Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
- Continuously improve warehouse operations using lean enterprise practices.
- All other jobrelated duties as assigned
- Open to work longer shifts or to work on holidays/weekends
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an equivalent leadership role in a warehouse environment
- Experiencing supporting the team of up to 30 employees
- Valid forklift operator license (Counterbalance, Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution Operations
- Proven communication skills both Written and Verbal (English)
- Ability to lift approximately 20 Ibs repetitively and safely
- Strong MS Office computer skills previous experience using a WMS system considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and customer focused
- Experience providing leadership guidance to all members in your department
- Ability to multitask and remain organized
