• The North West Company is looking for experienced department managers to relocate, live, and work in a remote northern Canadian community. This job requires relocation from Nova Scotia.

NWC provides relocation assistance, food, and housing allowances. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service
• Focus on customer relationships and service
• Manage the Meat Department for sales and profits
• Ensure the Grocery Department readiness throughout the day
• Develop business plans to meet sales goals
• Protect company assets
• Maintain and control inventories
• Monitor gross profit and handle variances
• Complete business segment inventories
• Provide input on sales trends and items
• Reduce shrink and rotate stock
• Support advertising and operational goals
• Train and develop staff for excellent customer service
• Work with supervisors to recruit and lead employees
• Keep staff informed and current with activities

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of grocery/retail experience
• Customer service skills
• Record of sales results
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Computer knowledge (Excel and Outlook)
• Must develop an understanding of customers
• Commitment to company vision and values
