Summary:


DMC is currently looking for a Scheduler to join our team on a permanent basis, based in our Vaughan Head Office location.

The Scheduler will be responsible for creating project schedules, work breakdown structures, as well as man-hour budgets.

The Scheduler will also be accountable for participating in scope of work/ work packages reviews, estimating, planning, preparing, coordinating, and maintenance of DMC's projects schedules.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain planning and scheduling procedures.
  • Provide functional support to the project planning and scheduling team who are assigned to different projects.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to maximize efficiency of processes/ reporting streams of work.
  • Create, assign and maintain projects within the Oracle Primavera P6 enterprise software following a structured process and project controls requirements.
  • Ensure that all planning tools and systems are functional.
  • Understand contract requirements coordinate with the project team, disciplines leads, subcontractors, and owner for their inputs to the project schedule.
  • Use and interpret technical drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.
  • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Use the Critical Path Method (CPM) to build network diagrams showing activity relationships.
  • Develop viable schedules for projects using the duration estimates, an analysis of schedule constraints, and the relationships between activities.
  • Calculate the schedule using the Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Conduct manpower planning and forecasting, including generating manhour budgets.
  • Efficiently load, monitor, and generate reports utilizing P6 Primavera scheduling program.
  • Conduct an analysis of the risks, assumptions, and scope to revise the time and resources estimates as required.
  • Develop and perform earned value analysis.
  • Analyze schedule variance, float and trending and monitor schedule KPIs.
  • Develop progress measurement process and analyze progress and performance data.

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of previous scheduling experience on heavy industrial projects.
  • Highly proficient with P6 Primavera software and scheduling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Project and Excel experience.
  • Experience working on crossfunctional teams and with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills
  • PSP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the mining industry is an asset.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to review and understand engineering, procurement, and construction schedule logic.
  • High level of attention to detail.
