HR Manager - Chilliwack, Canada - Westeck Windows & Doors

VP of Mfg. and VP of Sales
The Human Resource Generalist will work from Westeck Windows head office and provide support to all company departments. This person will manage the administration of all human resource and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Job Duties:
- Followup with Case Managers to ensure programs are approved and able to be completed within the workplace.
- Ensure medical information is in order and
- Liaison with WorkSafeBC in regard to workplace claims
- Ensure they are followed up regularly so employees don't slip between the cracks
- Ensure company is inline with WorkSafeBC regulations
- Develop safety training programs
- Ensure employees are trained in safety programs
- Oversee JHSC for all plants
- Work with Supervisors, Managers to ensure compliance of safety policy's
- Perform phone screens
- Cointerview or Interview applicants about their experience, education, and skills.
- Inform applicants about job details such as benefits and conditions.
- Conduct new employee orientations.
- Support foreman with the processing of paperwork, such as payroll time sheets, wage adjustments and vacation requests.
- Advise Plan and coordinate the workforce to best use employees' talents. Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
- Handle complex and sensitive employee relations and human resources issues that have organizational impact or legal ramifications.
- Work with managers to resolve and prevent employee relations issues through coaching and training.
- Ensures compliance with federal and provincial legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Support disciplinary procedures via acting manager.
- Advise managers on policies like equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and employment law.
- Advise managers on performance management, workforce planning and compensation. Managing subordinate staff to identify goals and objectives.
- Analyze and report on a departmental level, retention, and employee satisfaction.
- Promote culture characterized as supportive, safe and of continuous improvement.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
- Works in office setting
- Works under moderate supervision
- Frequently types and writes on computer and uses phone. Occasionally moves about to coordinate work
- Occasionally travels to other offices via car
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 years' experience in human resources
- Preferred bachelor's degree and or HR designation
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills required
- Strong knowledge of Manufacturing Safety
