Position Purpose

Reporting to the SSC, Manager, Rental Operations, the Mobile Tool Technician is a skilled technician, adept at performing a full range of tool repairs responsible for all aspects of diagnosing, repairing, and turning tools, supporting store tool technicians throughout District 125.

The role will primarily focus on ensuring tools are repaired in a timely manner, to better support the Rental business with available inventory to rent

Key Areas of Accountability:

Travel locally to stores selected by the operations team (25% of time will be traveling to/from stores) o Partner with SSC Ops team to determine highest priority stores in market
Coach, teach and train store technicians on processes, standards, and technical skills (50% of time) o Coach and provide guidance to Rental Associates on how to turn and repair rental fleet o Train store technician on Down Tool process expectations and ensure process is being followed o Train store technicians on Beyond Economic Repair (BER) process and impacts of BER decisions o Provide expense repair details and cost breakdown o Ensure store is following a preventative maintenance schedule o Ensure store is maintaining an appropriate inventory of consumable parts and supplies, while staying within budget o Review damage protection attach rates and provide insights and feedback to the team o Review Used Equipment list and support with merchandising strategies
Support Technician in diagnosis and repairs of fleet equipment (25% of time) o Adhere to Rental Standards and ensure Safety Standards are followed throughout the Tech Room and Rental Center o Keep fleet tools rental ready by properly turning tool upon rental return o Check Repair Depot for down tools and initiate work orders and parts purchase orders where needed o Diagnose, order parts, and repair fleet, in the Rental Center in a timely manner o Follow up with vendors on part deliveries o Complete tool repairs, including gas and electric powered o Input detailed notes in Repair Depot on completed and in repair process o Initiate thirdparty vendor repairs or parts sourcing needed and make necessary recommendations o Complete other Rental duties as required o Complete preventative Maintenance as needed, prioritizing in season tools o Reduce overall market down tool levels o Provide support coverage for Tool Tech absences Experience /

Knowledge Required:

Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and have satisfactory performance
The ability to diagnose and repair the rental fleet assortment
Experience repairing tools & small engines
Flexible work shifts and may be required to work a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends and travel as necessary
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Rental Toolbox and Repair Depot preferred
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people
Small Engine Mechanic Certificate preferred
Personal vehicle is required
