Who We Are:


The Role:

We are currently conducting a search for a
Manager, Operations in our
Calgary
Distribution Centre. This is a full time position and reports directly to the
Sr. Director, Operations (Prairies).


The Manager, Operations will ensure facilities are managed effectively and efficiently to provide service levels according to policies and procedures with a unionized and non-unionized workforce in a regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts and implement work plans to achieve objectives
  • Create and implement processes, including warehouse and distribution schedules to meet targets for ontime and accurate delivery
  • Develop processes that assist in attaining corporate and branch goals as related to all areas and for financials and productivity goals
  • Ensure inventories of full goods and empty containers are managed in accordance to policies and procedures
  • Provide and promote a safe workplace by identifying problems and through training/knowledge of applicable legislation
  • To manage, administer and control all Health and Safety policies, guidelines and procedures with the focus on maintaining a healthy and safe workplace
  • Reduce / Eliminate incidents supporting the Disability group and supervisors with employee program
  • Review and obtain outside service providers as per established BDL criteria
  • Ensure warehouse equipment and fleet is maintained in accordance with established guidelines
  • Establish and maintain housekeeping standards including maintenance of the facility
  • Provide the necessary motivation, advise, support and direction to Supervisors to maintain high levels of customer service and maximize efficiency
  • Maintain a high level of communication with the Sr. Director, Operations, in order to effectively manage the DC's
  • Provide business growth through commitment to customer service. Meet and exceed established plans
  • Ensures that all Provincial regulations are adhered to as well as Federal regulations where applicable
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


Education:


  • Must have completed High School and/or GED equivalent
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in a related field is considered an asset

Experience:


  • 8+ years experience in warehouse and/or transportation environment
  • Minimum 3 years experience in business management including overseeing projects
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with SAP is desired
  • Previous experience working for an organization with a unionized environment would be considered an asset
  • Prior experience in dealing with truck fleets and material handling equipment would be an asset

Skills:


  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated people management skills and leadership qualities
  • Possesses industry knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of business fundamentals relevant to the position
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
