OF TOWN/CITYThis is a position servicing the Weston neighbourhood of Toronto. The position will work out of Dr.
Sun's clinic, which is situated in the Mount Dennis neighbourhood in Toronto, a multi-cultural city of 2.5 million people (5.5 million in GTA).
Mount Dennis has been designated as a high needs community. The area is served by TTC and the GO train.DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE
The practice consists of in clinic and telemedicine assessments for patients based in Toronto. A spectrum of health backgrounds will be encountered, from newborns to the elderly. Diabetes and its sequelae, heart disease, hypertension, COPD, asthma, depression, anxiety are common issues which are encountered.
In Toronto, the work will involve a combination of scheduled and walk in care, with the support of Crosstown Family Health Team staff.
Under the direction and supervision of a registered Physician, and in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario's policy on delegation, the Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients based on mutually agreed upon guidelines.
While working with a team of health professionals in an inter-professional collaborative primary care setting and under the supervision of a physician, your role will include but not be limited to:- Conducting patient interviews and examinations where appropriate by telephone and video conferencing, concisely summarizing relevant findings
- Interpreting findings and investigations, organizing management plans in conjunction with other health professionals
- Promoting cancer screening, immunizations and competently managing chronic diseases
- Counseling patients on preventive healthcare and chronic disease management
- Delivering family care including well child, prenatal care and care of the elderly
- Managing, assessing and organizing acute health care delivery
- Performing certain acts under medical directives delegated to you by a physician
- Performing other duties within your competencies as a physician assistant.
- Properly digitizing and destroying medical records in accordance with Ontario privacy laws and the College of Physicians and Surgeons medical records management policies.

Graduate of the Physician Assistant Program
Hours of work up to 40 hours per week.
Salary:
$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
