Maintenance Technician - Etobicoke, Canada - Cascades
Description
As per the established schedule, assist with performing the required maintenance on all stationary equipment, mobile plant equipment and building components of the Plant.
- Must be able to follow instructions and to understand basic mechanical directions regarding repairs and maintenance of plant equipment
- Will carry out regular inventory control procedures and advise Plant Supervisor/ Plant Manager when parts need to be ordered.
- Assist contractors and subcontractors with repairs or overhauls and with new equipment installations as required.
- Operate mobile equipment as required in the performance of job duties.
- Complete daily housekeeping assignments for screens, conveyors, motors, pulleys etc.
- Responsible for returning all tools to the shop after use & maintaining the shop
- Constantly monitor plant equipment when in process to pinpoint problems before they arise
- Fill out daily maintenance log sheet
- Be on call for maintenance issues that need to be completed off hours.
- Attend all Department meetings and health and Safety training.
- Weekends, Holidays and night shift work will be required.
Qualifications
- Must be selfmotivated and able to work independently
- Follow specific production standards and guidelines
- May be required to work overtime and oncall
- Must be mechanically inclined and willing to learn
