Manager, Infrastructure Services


This role reports directly to the Director - IT Cloud & Infrastructure and work alongside technology leaders across Gore IT.

Manage a team of full-time and/or contract Infrastructure Leads, Analysts, Site Reliability Engineers etc. to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Take charge on all infrastructure-related projects, including implementation and action planning, configuration, and deployment, taking into account business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security requirements, governance and recovery objectives.

Manage team performance & metrics, KPI, KRI, Objectives and key results


What will you do?

On-premise
and Cloud Infrastructure

  • Responsible for operations of all corporateowned cloud subscriptions and physical datacenter locations, server rooms, and IT equipment spaces
  • Responsible for managing day to day infrastructure operations to improve costs, performance and user experience.
  • Provide leadership in planning and managing infrastructure operations and production support
  • Manage and maintain hypervisor hosting environments, Windows and Linux Servers, and datacenter equipment (UPS, PDUs, Racks etc.), Active Directory, as well as Enterprise Storage Area Networks
  • Overseeing management of MS 365 tenant services including Exchange, Teams, Telephony, eFax, and SharePoint etc.
  • Ensure system performance and SLA's are met, identify failing trends to avoid major incidents
  • Manage strategic relationships with key IT product and service stakeholders
  • Provide in depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives.
  • Translate IT trends in the industry and work with infrastructure and solution architects to define future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work with Enterprise intake to govern and support all approved initiatives and solutions.
  • Work closely with project team members for time allocation and prioritization
  • Analyze and predict trends and develop long term plans designed to maintain cost effectiveness
  • Ensure infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring and managing infrastructure related risks

Infrastructure Currency and Patching

  • Maintain infrastructure currency to ensure company has enough time and resources to refresh technologies
  • Ensure infrastructure is always uptodate with OS Updates and Security patching
  • Mitigate security issues by adhering to security standards and also be able to direct and execute zeroday security remediation
  • Provide Key Risk Indicators to leadership and trends when metrics are not met
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating CMDB according to asset lifecycle

Disaster Recovery/Resiliency and BCP

  • Participate in enterprise Business Continuity Planning, translate requirements to infrastructure DR, backup, and resiliency strategies.
  • Manage team members who work with DR, Backup, BCP process and ensure policies and procedures are always uptodate
  • Able to adhere to regulatory requirements when it comes to recovery of assets and data
  • Work with designated team members and other IT teams to conduct annual Disaster Recovery exercises, assess gaps and remediate issues

Team Management and administration

  • Manage Infrastructure Team IT resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands
  • Manages a dynamic team of individuals, constantly searching for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs
  • Track, enable, and encourage professional development within the team
  • Participate in IT strategy planning activities.
  • Participate in annual budgeting process and review operating budgets on a monthly basis.
  • Manage vendor contracts pertaining to infrastructure

What will you need to succeed?

  • 10+ years of experience in managing technical teams, Data Center and Cloud migration.
  • 10+ years of indepth Infrastructure knowledge around Servers, Storage, and Microsoft Office 365 technologies
  • 5+ years of indepth knowledge and experience dealing with infrastructure currency and patch management.
  • 5+ years of indepth knowledge and experience for managing disaster recovery and BCP.
  • Excellent communications skills and be able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
