Yard Person


As we continue to respond to the requirements of our customers and staff, our day shift in our Toronto facility, we are excited to advise that we're looking for a Yard Person.

This is a busy, team-oriented shop in our _
Central Ontario_ region that places a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction.

The service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.

Our service technicians are critical to the success of our customer relationships.

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of shop, yard and branch;
  • General building maintenance;
  • Operate forklift
  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance
  • Pressure wash equipment
  • Perform small equipment cleaning and diagnosis
  • Quality control involving detailed inspection for defects on rental units.
  • Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading trucks
  • Assist drivers, shop technicians and customers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Forklift operation experience;
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and mechanics;
  • Technical aptitude and organization skills are preferred;
  • Previous experience in a related field, and knowledge of construction equipment and building products;
  • A selfstarter, with a keen sense of timemanagement and effective planning skills;
  • Good communication and people skills.

This is an excellent entry-level position for an individual looking to gain experience in a mechanic shop.

Salary:
$19.00-$21.00 per hour
