Department Overview:
The Translation Services team at TD Bank consists of dedicated professionals whose goal is to ensure efficient, accurate and timely translation support.
The team performs a wide range of activities that includes logging and tracking translation requests and maintaining the Translation Satisfaction Index.

Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, the main focus of this role is to translate from English to French various documents more complex in nature from several Business Units across the organization (more specifically Corporate and Public Affairs, Insurance and Technology), perform terminological research, act as a resource
Main responsibilities:
- Translate from English to French a variety of documents increasingly complex in nature originating from various business units, more specifically Corporate and Public Affairs, TD Insurance and Technology;
- When required, proofread work performed by other team members as well as work performed by external agencies;
- Reach and consistently maintain a productivity level between 1,500 and 1,800 words per day with medium supervision;
- Occasionally act as a mentor for the integration of new employees within the Department;
- Perform terminological research associated with translation function;
- Contribute to expanding the terminological database by sharing terminological records and findings with rest of the team;
- Work closely with vendors to deliver projects as per established timelines;
- Act as a corporate resource for questions related to translation;
- Develop and maintain excellent business relationships with external vendors, partners and colleagues;
- Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Management.
- University degree in translation from English to French
- 35 years experience in a structured Translation Department
- Familiarity with computer assisted translation tools (Broca, Memoq or other)
- Translation experience in insurance or technology, an asset
- Complete fluency in French and English (written and oral)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Works to create a sense of teamwork, openness and communication
- Intellectual curiosity and excellent judgment
