Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Redwater facility is recruiting for a Specialist, Emergency Response to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Paraffin Operations in the NGL Business Unit, part of Pembina's Facilities Division.

The Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit is involved in the fractionation, terminaling and storage of our specification products throughout North America.


Responsibilities:


The Specialist, Emergency Response works collaboratively with Redwater site personnel and Pembina's Emergency Management Department, ensuring alignment with the Emergency Management Program.

The program contains elements of prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

The Specialist is accountable for leading the development and implementation of the Redwater Site Preparedness and Response Program, including processes, training, and emergency response readiness at the Redwater Facility.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead and support the implementation of the Redwater Site Preparedness and Response Program;
  • Oversee the development and execution of the annual emergency response training/exercise program, including the coordination of thirdparty training delivery within scope and budget;
  • Ensure all required documentation and tracking associated with the training/exercise program is maintained to ensure regulatory compliance;
  • Support the development and maintenance of response plans including Redwater specific Emergency Response Plans and facility specific Fire Plans;
  • Support the implementation of Inspection, Testing and Monitoring (ITM) of emergency equipment, including the coordination of all documentation to meet both Pembina and regulatory standards;
  • When required, respond to incidents within the facility and serve as a key member of Pembina's Regional Response Team;
  • Assess and continuously improve upon existing response processes and document reviews to ensure Emergency Management compliance requirements are understood and implemented;
  • Ensure all lessons learned from incidents, audits, exercises, trainings, and afteraction reviews are entered into Pembina's SMART system and assigned to team members; and
  • Participate in a team environment that values equity, diversity and inclusion.

Job Qualifications:


  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in an emergency preparedness and response role in the public sector in Emergency Management, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, or Military OR in the private sector in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors;
  • Significant experience and knowledge of industrial firefighting, including fire system design and operations, fire safety and fire preplanning;
  • Preference for NFPA 1001/1002 and/or 1081 Advanced Exterior certification;
  • Ability to develop and implement a facilitybased emergency response program, inclusive of program development, maintenance and continuous improvement;
  • Working knowledge of applicable provincial and federal emergency preparedness and response Acts, Regulations and Standards including NFPA Codes and Standards;
  • Postsecondary education in Disaster or Emergency Management, Engineering, Sciences or Commerce is an asset;
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) designation or other applicable professional certification is an asset;
  • Highly organized, capable of multitasking projects in a fast paced, time sensitive team environment;
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and project management skills;
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and working knowledge of SAP is an asset;
  • Well established communication, presentation, training, and facilitation skills; and

This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You may also be required to provide a Driver's Abstract.
