Responsibilities:


  • Enable profitable growth without adverse surprises, while providing superior customer service in the Canadian market.
  • Conduct analyses to understand customer behavior; design underwriting and lending solutions that deliver industryleading credit results and improve riskreturn tradeoffs.
  • Serve as an advisor to internal business partners (Operations, Marketing, Product Management, and Finance teams) on matters pertaining to underwriting, lending, and credit risk strategy.
  • Manage credit metrics and functional KPIs, and track progress against financial commitments.
  • Identify and drive awareness of emerging issues; adapt strategies to changing macroeconomic conditions and portfolio credit trends.
  • Collaborate with the Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Centers of Excellence to optimize credit decisions, strengthen credit policies, and enhance risk controls and capabilities.
  • Ensure operational excellence and full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead a highperforming team of risk management professionals provide both strategic and tactical direction; balance team priorities; create opportunities for continuous learning and development.
  • Work closely with Controllership, Treasury, Risk Oversight (2nd Line of Defense) and Internal Audit (3rd Line of Defense) to support bank governance.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the banking, credit, lending, and/or payments industry
  • Deep understanding of credit card economics and expertise in underwriting, lending, or another core credit risk management function
  • An advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, data science, operations research, engineering, or other quantitative field of study
  • Rigorous, datadriven approach to analytically solving complex business problems
  • Handson experience working with large datasets, and familiarity with Hive, Python, R, SAS, SQL, or similar programming languages
  • Track record of building trustbased relationships with crossfunctional stakeholders
  • Experience recruiting, coaching/mentoring, and leading diverse talent; and fostering an inclusive work environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization with geographically dispersed colleagues (across Canada, India, the US and UK)
