Position Summary:

The Nature Conservancy of Canada is administering an exciting grassland program across the western prairie provinces.

A Project Coordinator is a key part of this campaign, ensuring that the projects are completed on time and within budget, and that all corresponding data entry and administrative tasks are completed.

This role involves monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

The incumbent is responsible for the overall collection and tracking of program data to assist the Director of Prairie Grassland Conservation in responding to data requests and preparing program reports, such as the Donor Progress Report, Annual Report, and work plans.

The incumbent is organized and energetic, and a creative problem solver with a keen eye for detail. They will build strong relationships within NCC and with program delivery partners.

  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with landowners, leaseholders, donors, and other stakeholders
  • Experience in the agricultural and conservation sectors

Position Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will provide support to the Director of Prairie Grasslands Conservation in administering the Weston Family Prairie Grasslands Initiative (WFPGI)


Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, budgets, and expenditures
  • Compiling data for reporting, determining efficient ways to collect and maintain data and inputting data as required
  • Organizing, attending, and documenting stakeholder meetings. Follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Providing administrative support
  • Undertaking project tasks as required
  • Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
  • Coordinating signing of Partner Agreements and other documents as required
  • With content provided by the Director of Prairie Grasslands Conservation, updating and maintaining guidance documentation related to the Program
  • Maintaining a project management calendar/work plan for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Coordinating with regional staff and external partners to collect data and update multiple tracking sheets on program deliverables
  • Working with the Director of Prairie Grasslands Conservation to gather, consolidate and review the Annual Work Plan data to ensure accuracy and consistency with Program requirements,
  • Working with the Director of Prairie Grasslands Conservation, coordinate with National Finance, National Conservation, National Communications and Regional Conservation staff to review WFPGI projects, on a spotcheck basis and more detailed audits, to ensure all deliverables have been met, all NCC systems are uptodate and funds spent as approved.
