    Description

    The Position:

    Summit Search Grouphas been retained by a local leader in Winnipeg, Manitoba on the recruitment of their new Manager, Safety & Wellness. Reporting to the Vice President, the Manager, Safety & Wellness is accountable for developing, leading, and administering the company safety and wellness programs. This role is fast paced as you develop workplace health and safety policies, processes, and procedures aligned with provincial standards across Western Canada.

    The successful candidate will bring a professional polish to programs while also demonstrating the ability to roll up their sleeves and develop a trusting connection with their teams. Whether you are leading a session on safe lifting, completing an audit, or designing a comprehensive wellness program, this role is sure to be challenging and rewarding for an individual who likes to build.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Promote a comprehensive, cohesive, and impactful safety and wellness culture.
    • Be the safety expert, providing accurate and reliable health and safety advice and support to our people leaders.
    • Understand required provincial legislation and ensure safety compliance throughout the company.
    • Research and recommend creative and innovative approaches to accident/injury prevention, education, and overall safety culture.
    • Identify and implement new or modified safety practices, including policies, procedures, hazard analysis, and training.
    • Collaborate with HR, training, facilities, and operations to improve safety practices and culture.
    • Oversee local/branch workplace health & safety committees and audit programs in collaboration with people leaders and HR Business Partners, facilitate return to work and/or modified duties programs.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years experience in a management related position.
    • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or Safety preferred.
    • CRSP designation is considered a strong asset.
    • Experience developing and implementing safety programs across multiple locations.
    • Demonstrated experience conducting analysis, formulating recommendations, and facilitating implementation.
    • Effective communicator, including the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and conduct training.
