South Country Co-op is currently seeking a collaborative, action-oriented, and customer focused individual to join our payroll team as a Payroll Coordinator.

This full-time, permanent position will be based at our Medicine Hat Corporate Office. If you are a trustworthy, tech savvy, detail orientated and possess payroll administration experience, we want to hear from you

What you'll do

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining payroll administration of all employees, provides direction and consistencies across the organization on payroll, adhering to applicable legislation and collective agreements, and ensuring alignment with business needs.

This position contributes to the implementation of various payroll functions and other Human Resources initiatives.

It is also responsible for the collection of information or resources for the purpose of integration to ensure smooth and harmonious operations.


Who you are:


To be successful, you will have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in payroll administration
  • Certificate in Human Resources, Business, or Payroll (or applicable jobrelated experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Current working knowledge of legislation, labour and employment law, human rights legislation, collective agreements, and related areas
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Honest, trustworthy, results oriented and strive for excellence
  • Customerfocused perspective with a solid ability to quickly establish credibility with internal client groups
