The
Director of Production plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing production strategies to support our strategic business objectives.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborating with a diverse team, this leadership position encompasses comprehensive responsibilities across all facets of production performance.

This includes planning and scheduling, manufacturing of established products, integration of new products, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards in quality and safety.


In this role
you will:


  • Structure, plan, and lead production the production processes to meet and exceed safety, quality, cost, delivery, and profitability objectives.
  • Lead and develop the production team, overseeing the planning and scheduling team to ensure efficient capacity planning and operational performance across personnel, equipment, and products.
  • Promote a safetyfirst culture, fostering accountability and excellence in product quality, and recognize outstanding team achievements.
  • Foster strong relationships with all functions to ensure collaborative and efficient execution of operational requirements.
  • Develop a worldclass production strategies and technology to position the organization as a leader in operational excellence.
  • Enhance the capabilities of the production department to support immediate and future business goals.
  • Support and review proposals, ongoing contracts, and renegotiation of existing business, ensuring production opportunities are achievable.
  • Engage in critical 'make or buy' decision processes to optimize production efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Programs teams to lead new product introductions seamlessly into the production phase.
  • Support, communicate and defend the mission, values, and culture of the company.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management or an equivalent experience combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 8+ years' progressive leadership experience with demonstrated success leading people and operational functions to achieve results, preferably in the aerospace and defense market or composites.
  • Broad manufacturing operations skills in production/operation management, manufacturing engineering, production and capacity planning, materials and inventory control, and quality systems.
  • A solid understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
  • Proven experience in improving operations by implementing manufacturing best practices and operational excellence programs (Lean, Theory of Constraint, etc.)
  • A high degree of Emotional Intelligence to connect authentically, communicate effectively, thrive collectively and lead change in the workplace.
  • A track record of leading change in a complex and fast paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high levels of on quality and on time delivery.
  • Aptitude/experience in the financial and operational measurements of manufacturing facility performance complemented by a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
  • A keen focus on safety, security and well being.
