    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    This position reports to the Facility Manager and is responsible for the maintenance, installation and repair of equipment and building systems and the maintenance, repair, modifications and operation relative to the Preventative Maintenance System. Key responsibilities of this position would include fans, pumps, conveyors, compressors, hydraulic systems, vibration analysis, machine alignments and other mechanical equipment throughout the hospital complex. Another Key component will be repairing small tractors, housekeeping equipment and Operating room tables.The primary location will be at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, but if an event unfolds, this person may be asked to work at other sites within the zone. Potential multi-site duties as directed by FM&E Director or Manager.

    Description:

    As an Industrial Mechanic, you will perform a wide variety of journeyperson level duties associated with the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in accordance with building codes, blueprints, standards and practices.You will install, maintain, balance, test, troubleshoot and repair of all rotating and rolling stock equipment. In addition, you will perform operational maintenance and repairs using procedures such as vibration analysis and replace or repair defective parts when necessary.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Must have a minimum of (2) two years' experience in building maintenance preferably in a hospital setting. Must have a minimum of (3) three years progressive responsibility in the Mechanical field.Must be able to use required equipment and tools related to maintenance repair and testing.Must demonstrate technical problem-solving abilities and be mechanically inclined.Must be able to use required equipment and tools related to maintenance repair and testing.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Knowledge and experience with repairs to hydraulic equipment would be an asset.Welding experience would be an asset.Metal bending and fabrication would be an asset.Machining experience would be an asset.
