    Where the Chemistry Happens...


    As the Head of People for BASF Canada, you will be reporting to Head of Business Service Canada and will be responsible for developing and executing human resource as well as corporate communication strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of compensation and benefits, talent acquisition and talent management, training and development, employee engagement and internal communication as well as Public Relations. You will provide strategic leadership by articulating People and Corporate Communication needs and plans to the Canadian Leadership Team and will hold overall oversight responsibility for all People and Corporate Communication related activities for BASF in Canada. Using your strong strategic thinking skills, creativity and media acumen and relationships, you will elevate BASF Canada's brand reputation with employees and amplify our voice with key stakeholders and relevant public.

    Formula for Success: You Will...

    • Establish and implement People Services as well as Corporate Communication efforts that effectively communicate and support the firm's mission and strategic vision. Drive Diversity and Inclusion metrics throughout the organization.
    • Orchestrate corporate and unit level human capital strategy through partnering with the relevant senior leaders, the business units' HR Business Partners as well as the Corporate People & Communication teams in the US in the areas of compensation and benefits, Talent, Leadership, Employee Engagement and Corporate Coms.
    • Develop comprehensive strategic talent attraction and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the firm that are in sync with global, regional BASF goals and the Canadian markets for different businesses.
    • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the Canadian People function of approximately 10 colleagues by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits.
    • Design and execute internal and external communication strategies to position BASF along its core values towards its employees and external public.

    Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...

    • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred.
    • A minimum of 10 years of HR and/ or Communication experience, with at least three years of leadership experience.
    • Canadian HR Professional qualification, CHRL or CHRE or other equivalent qualification preferred.
