NOTICE OF VACANCY

SKILLED PAINTER

(All Shifts)

Duties shall include:


  • Review projects to determine quantities of materials required;
  • Mix and thin paint to obtain desired colour and texture;
  • Remove graffiti as required;
  • Assemble and erect scaffolding;
  • Provide cost estimates for work to management as requested;
  • Maintaining consistency with industry standards and learning new techniques in painting and spraying;
  • Maintain brushes, rollers and other equipment;
  • Responsible for general cleanup in designated work area and onsite;
  • Responsible for the condition of assigned vehicle and the prompt and accurate reporting of repairs and services required.
Note - vehicle not necessarily assigned to Painter;

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Certificate of Qualifications with an active status from Skilled Trades Ontario as a licenced Journeyperson in Ontario
  • Painter and Decorator
  • Industrial (404D);
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a Journeyperson Painter and Decorator
  • Industrial
  • Valid Class "G" Licence and provision of a satisfactory driver's abstract record;
  • Ability to work in cramped areas or at heights;
  • Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and work on man lifts;
  • Must be willing to work the afternoon or day shift as directed;
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision;
  • Good communication skills.***Successful incumbent must have the required qualifications including skill, knowledge and ability to perform all duties in a satisfactory manner.
