Description

Shkaabe Makwa is a Centre for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Wellness at
CAMH that supports culturally relevant systems initiatives to achieve health equity and community wellness in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and service providers across Ontario.


Shkaabe Makwa is seeking a
Manager, Workforce Development to manage the Centre's training and education activities and initiatives and to provide strategic and operational oversight.

This position will provide leadership and support to Shkaabe Makwa to ensure that the goals, objectives, and deliverables of training, education and community support initiatives are met.


This position requires the incumbent to be First Nations, Inuit or Métis, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate on initiatives with Indigenous service providers, organizations and First Nations communities.


Some of What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement the overall engagement, training, and evaluation plans for workforce development initiatives.
  • Liaise with Provincial Territorial Organizations, Provincial Indigenous Organizations, First Nation communities, Aboriginal Health Access Centres, and Indigenous services providers regarding training opportunities.
  • Support the internal team in developing courses, inperson and online events, and resources to respond to emerging needs.
  • Provide management, coordination and support to internal and external trainers, support staff, vendors, curriculum advisory circle members and other project partners.
  • Work with the Manager, Instructional Design and Learning Technologies, to oversee the development of a standardized and comprehensive online and blended learning training program.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of expertise in adult education, curriculum development, elearning, instructional design and learning technologies.
  • Draft project work plans and materials related to proposals, submissions and reporting.
  • Provide direct supervision and daytoday oversight of direct reports.
  • Draft and manage the portfolio's budgets.
  • Has a Master's degree in education, social work, psychology, health promotion, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working in education and/or mental health and addiction services.
  • 2+ years of experience with largescale implementation efforts at agency and/or system levels.
  • Management experience providing direct supervisory support to staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) and/or the ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships and advancing initiatives with government, community, and system partners.
This
full-time, permanent position is not part of any bargaining union.
