Youth Photography Program Instructor (Honorarium Opportunity)

Job Overview
South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) is seeking an instructor to plan, organize and deliver two
photography workshops for a group of newcomer youth (13 to 18 years old). The workshop will be 1.5 hours and
covers camera use fundamentals, including, but not limited to, how to use a DSLR Camera, camera shooting
modes, exposure, ISO, lighting, etc. Program delivery must be engaging for youth and cater to participants with
lower English language proficiency.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of work or volunteer photography experience with DSRL Camera with demonstrated
strong understanding of photography.

  • Work and/or lived experience with newcomer/immigrant/refugee vulnerable populations and strong
ability to work in multicultural environment.

  • Ability to confidently supervise up to 10 youth during the program.
  • Experience facilitating photography workshop or related in a group setting.
  • Successful criminal record search.
  • Second language is an asset.
  • Must be available on Saturdays to deliver the workshops.

Compensation:
$350.00 honorarium for two session including program preparation

Workshop Dates:
February 18, 2023, and February 25, 2023 (time to be determined upon hiring)
