Salary:
$225,000 CAD/year
Duties:
- Provide veterinary internal medicine referral services;
- Participate in the training of interns, residents, and staff;
- Perform therapeutic procedures;
- Responsible for patient records management;
- Accurate client billing;
- Participate in continuing education matters;
- Examine animals and diagnose problems or diseases through physical examinations or laboratory tests;
- Diagnose and prescribe medication to sick animals;
- May enforce government regulations in disease control;
- Keep up with the flow of the clinic and meeting expected appointment times;
- Expected to attend monthly DVM and all other team meetings, and contribute ideas and feedback at the meetings that will help with the health of the clinic and patients; and
- May attend 1 external conference per year.
Requirements:
- Required to be board certified with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) (SA
- Small Animal) or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) (SA
- Small Animal)
- University degree in veterinary medicine and three to four years of additional postgraduate studies or residency training in internal veterinary medicine
- Provincial Licensing in Ontario is required or ability to obtain
- Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude are a must
- A strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients
- Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
