Salary:
$225,000 CAD/year


Duties:


  • Provide veterinary internal medicine referral services;
  • Participate in the training of interns, residents, and staff;
  • Perform therapeutic procedures;
  • Responsible for patient records management;
  • Accurate client billing;
  • Participate in continuing education matters;
  • Examine animals and diagnose problems or diseases through physical examinations or laboratory tests;
  • Diagnose and prescribe medication to sick animals;
  • May enforce government regulations in disease control;
  • Keep up with the flow of the clinic and meeting expected appointment times;
  • Expected to attend monthly DVM and all other team meetings, and contribute ideas and feedback at the meetings that will help with the health of the clinic and patients; and
  • May attend 1 external conference per year.

Requirements:


  • Required to be board certified with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) (SA
  • Small Animal) or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) (SA
  • Small Animal)
  • University degree in veterinary medicine and three to four years of additional postgraduate studies or residency training in internal veterinary medicine
  • Provincial Licensing in Ontario is required or ability to obtain
  • Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude are a must
  • A strong desire to educate and build solid relationships with clients
  • Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
