The Event Services Supervisor (seasonal) is responsible for the successful execution of private events, member functions, and banquets at Donalda Club. This is a hands on leadership role that supports daily operations, oversees service excellence, and ensures all events are executed according to Club standards.

The Supervisor leads by example, working directly alongside service staff, coordinating event set-up and flow, and serving as Manager on Duty when required. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Event Leadership & Service Excellence

• Oversee all aspects of event execution, ensuring service meets Donalda Club standards.
• Welcome and engage members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
• Review Banquet Event Orders in advance to confirm details and readiness.
• Lead pre-service briefings to review event flow, menus, beverages, dietary needs, and special instructions.
• Act as the primary on-site contact for members, guests, kitchen, and service teams.
• Assist with food and beverage service as needed.

Team Supervision & Operations

• Ensure proper event set-up, table settings, cleanliness, and overall room presentation.
• Monitor grooming and uniform standards in accordance with Club policy.
• Coordinate staffing and assist with scheduling based on event requirements.
• Maintain service ware inventory and par levels; ensure proper care and storage.
• Complete event billing and closing procedures as required.
• Open and close the Club as assigned and ensure the facility is secure.
• Support and enforce Smart Serve standards.

Communication & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain clear communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams, including dietary restrictions and special requests.
• Attend departmental and staff meetings.
• Recommend improvements to service procedures and event layouts.

What We're Looking For:

Education & Certifications

• Completion of a high school diploma is required
• Post-secondary education in a Food & Beverage Management or related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
• 3-5 years of hospitality or food and beverage service management is required.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role (private club experience preferred)
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Wine certification or Sommelier ceritification considered an asset.
• Proficiency in JONAS program banquet module is required
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Prolonged standing and walking account for more than half of the workday.
• Frequent bending, twisting, and reaching during service and event setup.
• Repetitive motions associated with supervising service operations and handling equipment and supplies.
• Manual handling of materials, including moderate lifting and carrying of items weighing 8-15 lbs.
• Primarily an indoor, environmentally controlled work environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor or seasonal facilities during special events.
• Work is performed in close physical proximity to others, including staff, members, and guests.
• Use of standard safety equipment and adherence to established health and safety procedures.

Compensation: The expected compensation range for this role is $20- $24 per hour. We'll place you within the range based on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.
