The Waegwoltic is a seasonal recreation club located on the Northwest Arm in Halifax.

Not only are we a scenic getaway in the heart of the city, but we also host a multitude of events and programs for our members to attend.

Our property includes tennis courts, outdoor pools, moorings, and 5 buildings.

As a cleaner at the Waegwoltic Club, you will be required to rotate the grounds and ensure all bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized.

You will also need to sanitize touch surfaces all around the property, and gather garbage from various outdoor and indoor locations.

While you will never be the only cleaner on the shift, the majority of the work is independent, except for a few larger rooms, for events, and for gathering garbage at night.

Cleaners use our electric Club Car (similar to a golf cart) for gathering garbage, so experience with driving is an asset, but we are willing to train those who are comfortable.

Though our cleaners may not need to interact with members regularly, we still need them to be friendly and polite, and unafraid to ask members to wait a moment while a bathroom is being cleaned.

This is a seasonal position, with full-time (40hr a week) and part-time hours available in June to August, and part-time hours available in May and then again in September into October.

Availability for at least one day each weekend is required unless you've been approved for time-off. Shifts are normally 8 hours long, with earliest start at 8am, and closing shift finishing at 10pm.

The start date will depend on individual availability and pool opening date (varies depending on weather and maintenance). An orientation day for basic training will be held in April/May for all facility departments.

Cleaning experience, or enjoys cleaning/organizing
Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays we try to provide an ideal schedule to the best of our ability, but cannot guarantee certain days off
Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time, and to lift 50lbs
Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism
Ability to work alone and with a team
