Tasks:


  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings or conferences
  • Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information
  • Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents
  • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
  • Administer the collective agreement
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  • Mediate labour disputes and grievances
  • Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  • Liaise with management, union officials and HR consultants
  • Translate a variety of written material
  • Research legal precedents and gather evidence
