Job Summary
We are hiring a Staff Accountant
with at least
1-4
years of hands-on accounting experience
in public practice. The ideal candidate is someone who understands the full accounting cycle, communicates well with clients, and can independently manage key tasks such as corporate tax filing, GST/HST returns, financial statement preparation, and payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns accurately and on time.
- Prepare Notice to Reader (Compilation) financial statements.
- File corporate income tax (T2) returns using TaxCycle.
- Manage and process payroll filings and remittances.
- Handle day-to-day communication with clients regarding their accounting needs.
- Review CRA notices and respond appropriately.
- Compile year-end working papers and supporting documents.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
- Prepare and finalize financials and engagement reports using CaseWare.
- Maintain Excel-based schedules and reports.
- Sincere and Mature
Requirements
- Minimum
1-4 years of Canadian accounting experience
(preferably in public practice). - Strong working knowledge of:
- QuickBooks Online & Desktop
- TaxCycle
- CaseWare
- Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with CRA correspondence and follow-ups.
- Solid understanding of Canadian tax laws and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience with client relationship management is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
