    Description

    At SMS Equipment, our Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) Specialist is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day inventory transactional and control support and generating customer solutions as a value-added supplier. This position is in Fort McMurray, AB.

    The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $118,000.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review weekly stock levels and place orders with defined parts technicians.
  • Follow up with order confirmations, change up numbers and delivery dates and upgrade/expedite when required.
  • Run back-order reports and investigate and communicate pertinent information to impacted parties.
  • Assist in issuing Return Material Authorization numbers (RMA) and issuing credits to customers.
  • Follow up with accounts receivable department regarding disputed credit claims from customers.
  • Provide documentation to parts department regarding receipts and proof of delivery.
  • Investigate and follow up on duplicate shipments and shipping errors to customers.
  • Participate in the annual inventory count and reconciliation and in the return material process for returning parts.
  • Maintain files, records, and paperwork.
  • Actively participates in Branch meetings.
  • Takes an active role in customer JoiFul meetings and communicating minutes from these meetings to improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Attend meetings and scheduled monthly meetings with manufacturers/company representatives.
  • Report regularly and make recommendations as to how to improve product and/or process to see continued product improvements.
  • Solve technical problems and generates customer solutions as a value-added supplier.
  • Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will have a post secondary education along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in vendor management inventory and/or inventory control within a large distribution environment. Additional requirements include:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Strong customer focus and excellent customer service skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
