The Opportunity


Leavitt Machinery is recruiting for a driven, energetic, and team-oriented
Product Sales Specialist to join our team in
Edmonton, Alberta.

As the Product Sales Specialist you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all sales and business development activity in your assigned territory, with a focus on selling compact construction equipment and wheeled loaders.

This position will be based out of a branch location, however; you will spend most of your time meeting with potential clients outside of the office.

This is a hands-on sales position offering a competitive compensation and benefits plan, where you will have the opportunity to develop business for a specialty product line.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Product Sales Specialist your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the sales strategy in your assigned territory, including prospecting, managing sale leads, and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers
  • Conducting onsite equipment demonstrations
  • Developing expertise in selling compact construction equipment, and owning related sales plans for this specialty product line
  • Retaining business relationships and growing existing customer accounts by proactively identifying opportunities and presenting innovative solutions to customers
  • Delivering customized, effective, and solutionoriented sales pitches, using prior research, market data, product expertise, and sales skills to prepare
  • Tactfully and professionally negotiating with customers to successfully close deals and secure client accounts
  • Identifying and building relationships with decision makers within existing accounts, establishing yourself and Leavitt Machinery as a trusted advisor and partner
  • Reviewing target customer opportunities and providing input regarding the sales strategy, ensuring alignment within the overall account strategy
  • Ensuring fulfillment of customer contract terms and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with product experts to identify and leverage crossselling opportunities
  • Conducting followups with customers on orders, quotes, and service requests

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 23 years B2B sales experience, ideally in a comparable industry (construction, industrial, machinery, etc.)
  • Prior experience in construction equipment sales a strong asset; knowledge of compact construction equipment and wheeled loaders construction equipment would be ideal but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, demonstrating professionalism and providing incredible customer service at all times
  • A true team player who is willing to be coached as well as support others
  • High motivation and resilience, with the ability to consistently achieve goals while operating both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, negotiation skills, and problemsolving ability
