Duties:


As the bilingual Partnering, Engagement and Communications Officer for the PEI Field Unit, you will join a dynamic, passionate and energetic team.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and help facilitate communications and media relations on a regular basis.

You will work with the team to help maintain relationships with a variety of external stakeholders.

You will play a key role in engaging the public, partners and stakeholders to help them understand, appreciate and protect Parks Canada-administered sites on Prince Edward Island.

EDUCATION

  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in business administration, commerce, or a field relevant to the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a field related to the position.
Degree equivalency


EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in the delivery and management of stakeholder and partner engagement;
  • Experience in the delivery and management of public relations and communications plans or products;
  • Experience dealing with the news media in Canada.

  • Knowledge of issues, trends and best practices in stakeholder relations, partner engagement, public relations and communications;
  • Knowledge of a broad spectrum of communication media tools and techniques.

ABILITIES

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, to multitask and to work under timesensitive conditions;
  • Ability to plan and organize the logistics associated with special events, such as news conferences and press briefings;
  • Ability to develop communication products (ie news release) and provide advice in strategic communications/media relations.;
  • Ability to plan for strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and/or partner engagement.
