JOB PURPOSE


To support the SouthEast SSHE Manager and the Cluster Site Leaders in exercising their SSHE responsibilities, the post holder will report directly to the UK SouthEast SSHE Manager, and in conjunction with the Occupational Health (OH) team provide the necessary knowledge and experience to ensure that the sites within the cluster remain compliant with UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, Unilever SHE & Security Standards, and achieve a sustainable underlying improvement trend with respect to SHE & Security performance and culture.- Support SSHE Manager and all stakeholders in meeting their SSHE responsibilities, ensuring legal compliance across cluster sites, working with the OH manager and local leadership teams.- Support the SouthEast SSHE Manager to agree, manage, and evaluate SSHE operations to ensure service delivery that complies with national policy and meets local needs, across the SE cluster.- Advise and support local teams in all matters relating to employee safety & security.- Support in the management of sites' SSHE governance in collaboration with the SouthEast SSHE Manager, the UK&I SSHE Manager and the National UK&I leadership.- Contribute to UK&I SSHE strategy development and strategic initiative.- Develop areas of functional expertise and contribute to the development and maintenance of shared UK&I policies, systems and processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic:

  • In conjunction with the national leadership and organisational partners contribute to the development of SS&E strategy.
  • Engage key decision makers and site leadership teams in SS&E initiatives.
  • Support the development of a business culture that enhances Occupational Health, Safety, Security and Environment and productivity.
  • Maintain agreed performance measures for Safety, Security and Environment within the cluster.
  • In collaboration with the SSHE manager and the rest of the SSHE team, support relevant stakeholders in achieving SSHE compliance.
  • Maintain internal and external focus to ensure continuous improvement, development and innovation.
  • Support the implementation of Safety, Security and Environmental policy, streamlined processes and programs across cluster sites according to local needs as identified through needs analysis and site profiling.
  • Influence key stakeholder groups to develop and adopt SSHE work practices and programs.
  • Establish and maintain a high profile for, and the credibility of, Safety, Security and Environment.

Governance:

  • Support delivery of Safety, Security and Environment Operations across South East cluster sites.
  • Identify, implement and maintain operational best practice for key areas of Safety, security and environment operations.
  • Support in reporting of SHE performance to cluster management, National, European and global governance team and key stakeholder groups.
  • Participate in OHSE audit and governance activities, sharing data, knowledge and best practice across the UK.
  • Facilitate implementation of major Safety, Security and Environmental programs across cluster site.
  • Assist with development and deployment of the following key OH & SHE processes:


  • Risk Assessment.-

  • Management of AA on-line Driver safety compliance tool.-
  • Annual Planning including Objectives and Targets.-
  • Training.-
  • Site Communication.-
  • Operational Control.-
  • Emergency Preparedness.-
  • SHE Reporting Systems to National and Regional Levels.-
  • SHE Incident / Case Investigation.-
  • Internal SHE Audit.-
  • Statutory Inspections & Audits.-
  • Management Review.-
  • Events safety program.-
  • Assist in developing and improving OH & SHE culture within the organisation

Operational Excellence:

  • Coordinate and contribute to the development, standardisation and review of policies, procedures, programs, performance indicators and other ways of working based on identified best practice, whilst ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, consistency, efficiencies and other quality improvements.
  • Establish regular audit and supervision activities.
  • Work closely with rest SSHE team members to maintain high levels of performance.
  • Ensure SSHE point of contact always available for business stakeholder queries.
  • Support the liaison with all interested parties including regulatory authorities on Cluster OH & SHE & Security topics.
ALL ABOUT YOU- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.- Experience of working in a SHE discipline.- Computer literate (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
