Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Aide in the Adult Inpatient program at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury (CCMHBI) in Ponoka.

The Acute Services Units within the Adult Inpatient Program provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and stabilization services to individuals 18-64 years of age who have a severe and persistent mental illness and/or are experiencing an acute mental health crisis and/or addiction illness.

This position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are large contributors to success in this position. You will report to the Unit Manager or designate Manager.

The Psychiatric Aide is able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support addiction and mental health patients to meet their patient recovery goals and assisting with activities of daily living, observing and reporting any changes in condition.

You will assist with treatment and support to individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness, addiction, or those experience an acute mental health crisis.

You are a team member that works with professional staff to support the development, implementation, and delivery of the patient care as guided by the clinical staff.

Description:

As a Psychiatric Aide, you will perform activities within a multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures.

Your duties will includes assisting with the provision of routine nursing care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs; assisting with organized activities or programs; as well as observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing.

You will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.

Required Qualifications:
