Concrete Operations/Plant Manager
Fisher Wavy is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Concrete Operations/Plant Manager in Thunder Bay.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Readymix operations
- All daytoday operations
- Review finances and maintain budget
- Plant maintenance / maintenance programs
- Inventory parts
- Assist in scheduling Drivers/Lab Techs/Batchers/Dispatchers
- Working with Maintenance to collaborate on Trucks, scheduling repairs
- Maintain Aggregate levels
- Portable Plant OperationsPlant maintenance
- Batchers / Dispatchers
- Plant set up
- Attend weekly operation meetings
- Work closely with Quality ControlProvide mix design feedback
- Mix design specifications
- CustomersHandle customer problems in a timely fashion
- Understand the problems and help with solutions
- Meet with customers to help close large projects
- Maintaining a quality team of individuals
- Continued training/upgrading
- Mentoring and providing positive feedback
- Creating current SOP's
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment, both interior and exterior
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma is an asset
- Post-Secondary education in the business field is considered an asset
- 35 years experience managing 6+ employees is an asset
- Experience in the concrete and aggregates industry is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to adapt to lastminute changes as dictated by the needs of our business
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab)
- Computer proficiency (MS Office
- Word, Excel and Outlook)
