Concrete Operations/Plant Manager

Fisher Wavy is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Concrete Operations/Plant Manager in Thunder Bay.

This is a full-time permanent position with competitive wages and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Readymix operations
All daytoday operations
Review finances and maintain budget
Plant maintenance / maintenance programs
Inventory parts
Assist in scheduling Drivers/Lab Techs/Batchers/Dispatchers
Working with Maintenance to collaborate on Trucks, scheduling repairs
Maintain Aggregate levels
Portable Plant OperationsPlant maintenance
Batchers / Dispatchers
Plant set up
Attend weekly operation meetings
Work closely with Quality ControlProvide mix design feedback
Mix design specifications
CustomersHandle customer problems in a timely fashion
Understand the problems and help with solutions
Meet with customers to help close large projects
Maintaining a quality team of individuals
Continued training/upgrading
Mentoring and providing positive feedback
Creating current SOP's
Display professionalism toward our company and customers
Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment, both interior and exterior
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures: safety standards operations, maintenance, training, cleanliness standards, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma is an asset
Post-Secondary education in the business field is considered an asset
35 years experience managing 6+ employees is an asset
Experience in the concrete and aggregates industry is an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Ability to adapt to lastminute changes as dictated by the needs of our business
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Must perform regular cleaning of motor vehicles and mobile equipment to control dust (inside and outside cab)
Computer proficiency (MS Office
Word, Excel and Outlook)
