    Based in Charlottetown, the Insurance Company of Prince Edward Island (ICPEI) offers market-leading home, auto and commercial insurance solutions. Our products are sold exclusively through a network of brokers across all three Maritime Provinces, Quebec and Ontario.

    Your role

    Reporting to the Claims Manager, Atlantic, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles commercial and personal property claims.

    What you bring to the position


    • Minimum 3 years of claims adjusting experience (property)
    • CIP designation or working towards same to meet licensing requirements
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills
    • Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
    • Bilingual (French/English) required
    What you will do


    • Collect and analyze claims information through investigation
    • Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property policies
    • Maintain timely and accurate records throughout claim handling
    • Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves
    • Negotiate settlement (or denial)
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients
    • Provide exceptional service
    • Provide timely reports and file presentations to Claims Supervisor/Manager
    • Work closely with Underwriting Department on risk assessment
    • Work both independently and as part of the Claims team
