We are looking for a dedicated and team-oriented full-time Duty Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and who is committed to providing exceptional customer service to our clients and guests.
The Duty Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall event management plan is executed exceptionally; sometimes as the only point of contact at the stadium.
The Duty Manager plays a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experience is provided to all clients, show managers, suppliers, and guests during events as well as during move-ins and move-outs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, show managers, suppliers, guests and staff;
- Act as the management representative to clients, show managers, suppliers, and guests during scheduled movein/out and event shifts;
- Supervise and brief technical and event staff during movein/out and event shifts;
- Prepare and complete all event related paperwork;
- Provide supervisory support to event staff;
- Ensure onsite safe work practices for BCP staff, show management, exhibitors and contractors;
- Participate in the training and management of event staff;
- Participate in the recruitment of event staff, when required;
- Participate in department strategic planning,
- Attendance at safety training and educational courses;
- Work with Event Managers and our clients to ensure delivery of service excellence is consistent and timely;
- Act as an Event Manager as required;
- Assist and support the broader BC Place Event Services Team;
- Other related duties as required.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Relevant postsecondary degree or diploma;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, in event operations;
- Knowledge of WCB regulations;
- Knowledge of event technical services, food & beverage, ticketing, etc,;
- High level of analytical and interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a timesensitive environment;
- Proven ability to work with a diverse team;
- Proven ability to work well under pressure;
- Experience in a unionized environment an asset;
- Valid BC Driver's License;
- Driven by service excellence.
