Are you an organized, conscientious, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working as part of a team? We are looking to add a new member to our Vancouver office, working full-time in-office as an Accounting Clerk.


About the Job:


Our Accounting Clerk will work closely with our Director of Finance to manage and execute accounting functions within the firm.


Responsibilities include:


  • Issue general cheques to pay thirdparties for clients. Ensure accuracy and completeness of back up accounting documentation submitted.
  • Entering and processing of all trust deposits and trust cheques in our accounting system, in accordance to the Law Society Rules and Firm policies
  • Manage the firm's credit card transactions on a weekly basis. Post charges in a timely manner and obtain approval for any charges if required. Reconcile monthly statements before preparing payment.
  • Review, code, and post vendor invoices.
  • Process client disbursements and internal disbursements
  • Perform other duties as required.

Pay Range:
$50K+ annually (salary commensurate with experience)

Experience: 2+ years accounting experience, in a law firm environment is preferred.


Education:
Completed (or currently enrolled in) an Accounting Diploma program or equivalent relevant work experience.


Skills:

Detail oriented, familiar with the accounting function within a legal environment, strong working knowledge with specialized accounting software (PC Law/ Quick Books), comfortable communicating with vendors and team members.


Characteristics:
You should be self-motivated and willing to learn (along with learning is making mistakes). You are a proactive self-starter who has a positive, energetic attitude. You use logic and have your fair share of common sense. You understand the importance of exercising discretion and confidentiality and can adapt to dynamic situations. This position requires 5 days per week (Monday to Friday during business hours) in our downtown office.
